If you wish to change the players that are activated, you must first create a new Playback Configuration, which can then be edited. The Playback Configurations that ship with Sibelius are immutable. Please explain in more detail what you mean by "see the soundcard sets". To see an activated version of Sibelius Player, you need to select a Playback Configuration such as "Sibelius 7 Sounds", which will move Sibelius Player to the right-hand column (and move the MIDI player back to the left-hand column, greyed out). "Sibelius Player" is bound to be greyed out when Playback Configuration "General MIDI (Basic)" is selected. When Playback configuration "General MIDI (Basic)" is selected, there should be an instance of the built-in system MIDI player visible in the right-hand column. ![]() I checked back in the 'Playback Configurations' folder - there is a general midi xml file there, but the 'general midi basic data' folder is empty. ![]() General MIDI (Basic) is always installed: it is part of the operating system, and should always be available in Sibelius. Now there is no General midi (basic) listed at all in the playback configs, only the 4 Sibelius options.
